Jet Airways and Indian Airlines fly into Varanasi daily from New Delhi. Indian Airlines flies into Varanasi daily from Bombay. And Sahara Airlines flies into Varanasi three times a week, on Tuesdyas, Thursdays and Saturdays, from Calcutta.
Allahabad is situated on the main rail route between New Delhi and Calcutta and several trains pull in daily from Calcutta and New Delhi. The Kalka Mail, the Rajdhani and the Prayag Raj are convenient trains to reach Allahabad from Calcutta or New Delhi. The Prayag Raj departs from New Delhi daily at 2130 hours and reaches Allahabad at 0645 hours, the following day. The Rajdhani departs from New Delhi at 1715 hours and reaches Allahabad at 0023 hours the next day. The Rajdhani departs from Calcutta at 1700 hours and reaches Allahabad at 0233 hours the next day. The Kalka Mail departs from Delhi at 0730 hours and reaches Allahabad at 1720 hours. The Kalka Mail departs from Calcutta at 1915 hours and reaches Allahabad at 0900 hours the next day. The Howrah Mail connects Bombay with Allahabad. The Howrah Mail departs from Bombay at 2110 hours and reaches Allahabad at 2030 hours the next day.
